T Tail the Whales

A reading desk for large Kalshi prints

Read the print before you follow it.

A whale fill is a trade that already happened. This desk prices what is left on the board. If the condition can happen again, write it as a rule and test it. If the leftover payoff is tiny, leave it.

Price still on the board

97¢ you can lose

3¢ you can make

A 97¢ contract risks 97¢ to make 3¢ if it wins. Copying it means taking that shape after the whale already traded.

1 · See it

Find repeated size

One huge print is a headline. The useful case is the same side of the same market getting filled again, at a price you can still name.

2 · Price it

Use the number above

Contracts settle at $1 or $0. The cents still on the board are what you risk. The rest is all you can make. This is arithmetic, not a quote from today’s book.

3 · Write it

Make it a rule

If you would take that price the next time it appears, write the market, the side, and the ceiling. Test it in Paper before any live order.
